CHICAGO – August 15, 2011– Performics(www.performics.com), the performance marketing agency owned by Publicis Groupe, held its first ever Community Performance Day on Friday, August 12. The agency closed offices in Atlanta, Chicago and New York and all employees supported their communities by feeding the hungry, painting public schools, weeding community gardens, and assisting at youth summer camps.
“Our talented teams make Performics successful each day by delivering terrific marketing results for clients, but it’s important to provide structured opportunities for them to participate within the community,” said Daina Middleton, CEO of Performics. “Many people make do with far fewer opportunities, and we hope Community Performance Day is a step towards improving lives.”
In Chicago, Performics global headquarters, teams partnered with Chicago Cares in three areas:
Chicago Public Schools: more than 80 employees painted hallways, classrooms and playground activities to update learning environments at Harold Washington Elementary School
Chicago Food Depository: more than 30 employees worked with two local food banks to conduct a non-perishable food drive and organize donations for distribution to those in need
Chicago Community Garden: more than 20 employees worked in a near west side community garden, weeding, planting and mulching
More than a dozen New York employees participated in a field day coordinated by New York Cares. Volunteers served as honorary gym teachers, working with 7-12 year-old students attending a local summer program. In addition to facilitating activities for the day, all sports equipment purchased by Performics for the event was donated to the school.
In Atlanta, half a dozen employees spent the day supporting Hands On Atlanta at the Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency. The organization empowers homeless individuals in the greater Atlanta community to achieve economic self sufficiency and their ultimate potential to thrive in life. Volunteers helped with meal preparation and service tasks at the organization’s Café 458 location.
