Performics Harnesses the Power of Yahoo! Stream Ads to Efficiently Grow Conversions at a Lower Cost


Challenge: A large financial client sought to expand reach of brand and top performing generic keywords through a new rich ads initiative. While looking to expand its customer base, our client hoped to attract new customers with a high customer lifetime value (CLV). This client was already taking advantage of Google opportunities like search companion, Google Display Network (GDN) and search remarketing. Solution: Performics turned to Yahoo! Sports and more: Stream Ads Case Study 1Leveraging best performing ad copy for both brand and generic keywords, Performics constructed Stream Ads campaigns to advertise a suite of products proven to attract prospects with a high CLV. Performics launched a three-month test to compare Stream Ads to GDN performance. Results: After running for three months, Stream Ads experienced impressive results:

  • Spend: Compared to GDN, Stream Ads spent 42% less at a 55% lower cost-per-click
  • Ad performance: While Stream Ads saw 55% less impressions than GDN, ad performance drove a 186% higher click-through rate, resulting in 30% more clicks
  • Conversions: Stream Ads generated 51% more applications with a 16% higher conversion rate
