Each year, the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s) coordinates their Institute of Advanced Advertising Studies (IAAS) program to catapult rising stars into the industry’s best and brightest. They offer this 15-week program in 8 cities, and clients this year included Klondike, American Express, RaceTrac, Qualcomm, and Skyy Vodka among others. Claire Doiron, Senior Account Manager at Performics, was chosen along side 35 other agency representatives to participate in the program this year. The class was broken up into 5 teams and challenged with pitching to this year’s client RaceTrac in an ultra-competitive environment. Beginning in February, there was a series of classes led by seasoned veterans intended to educate the students outside of their day-to-day roles. Class topics included: creative briefs, strategy statements, positioning and branding, media planning, integrated marketing, PR, and presentation skills. Each class and every bit of research shaped the presentations, leading to 5 unique all-encompassing solutions for the client! The judging panel was comprised of clients, mentors, and agency executives who gathered in May to determine which team would “win” the business. Claire concluded, “This program was incredibly hands-on. We were taught to think big-picture and challenged to break down barriers between segments.” Congratulations to Claire Doiron for being selected for, and successfully completing, the 4As program!
