Reputation Management Goes Mainstream

I don't know if the story of how computer accessory maker Belkin posted fake product reviews to the Internet happened before Scott Adams penned this strip (also shown above)– cartoonists typically work at least a few weeks in advance — or if it's just a happy coincidence. Either way, I take it as evidence that Reputation Management may be as big a story for marketers in 2009 as Social Networks and Online Video. And, of course, 2009 will be the year for mobile marketing, because every year is going to be the year for mobile marketing.

Then again, Reputation Management also made the news when a California dentist sued two people over Yelp reviews.
